Why this list matters

ISO/IEC 42001:2023 published in December 2023. Accredited certifications began rolling out in mid-2024. The organisations below demonstrate that the certification process works, that accredited certification bodies are issuing certificates at scale, and that major technology providers consider ISO 42001 worth the investment. 2024, the first year

• KPMG Australia (October 2024, BSI), First globally. Certified its professional services use of AI.
• OrionStar Robotics (July 2024, SGS)
• Synthesia (September 2024, A-LIGN), AI video generation platform.
• AWS (November 2024, Schellman), first major cloud provider. Certified Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q.

2025, enterprise adoption accelerates

• Anthropic (January 2025, Schellman), Claude models and API.

Patterns in the certified-companies list

• Cloud and AI platforms lead. AWS, Google, Microsoft, Anthropic, Cohere, SAP AI Core have certified core platform services, signalling that they expect enterprise customers to ask.
• Professional services follow fast. KPMG Australia first, then other professional-services firms. AI governance is becoming a service deliverable.
• Vertical applications are joining. Workday (HR), Autodesk (design), Zendesk (customer service), ibex (CX), sector-specific AI vendors seeking procurement-ready certification.
• Cybersecurity has arrived. CrowdStrike's January 2026 certification for AI-powered security signals that ISO 42001 is now relevant far beyond "AI companies".

What this means for your procurement posture

For enterprise buyers: more of your strategic vendors are certified or will be soon. Ask for ISO 42001 certification status in RFPs; ask when it's scheduled if not yet certified.

For AI vendors: your largest enterprise customers increasingly expect certification or clear intent. Certified vendors will win more deals, faster, with less questionnaire friction.

For regulators and procurement teams: use ISO 42001 as part of your vendor-assessment framework. It's a concrete, externally-verifiable signal of AI governance maturity.
