1. Our position

The ISO 42001 Documentation Toolkit is a digital product, and we back it with a plain 7-day money-back guarantee. If the toolkit is not right for you, tell us within 7 days of purchase and we refund you in full. You do not need to justify the decision, and we do not ask you to delete the files first. Section 4 also lists longer windows that stay open beyond the 7 days.

We can offer this because we would rather you buy without hesitating than argue with you afterwards. We have kept the policy short, specific, and honest so that you can buy with clear expectations.

2. Before you purchase

The single best way to avoid a refund situation is to confirm fit before you buy. We have built the site to make that easy:

  • The Products page lists exactly what is included in each tier, Starter (23 AIMS documents, 28 files), Professional (52 files), and Audit-Ready (58 files).
  • The Documentation List page enumerates every individual document by code (AIMS-01, PRO-01, AR-01, etc.) so you know precisely what you are buying.
  • The FAQ covers compatibility with ISO 27001 programmes, certification body acceptance, the Microsoft SSPA mapping, and the four-way crosswalk against NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act.
  • The Microsoft SSPA, Colorado AI Act, and EU AI Act deep-pages explain how the toolkit maps to specific regulatory frameworks.
  • If a question is not answered on the site, email support@iso42001toolkit.com before purchase. We answer pre-sale questions within one business day.

If you are unsure whether the toolkit is right for your situation, ask us before you buy and we will tell you honestly, including when the answer is that it is not a fit. And if you buy anyway and it turns out we were wrong, the 7-day guarantee in Section 1 has you covered.

3. What you are buying

Each tier delivers editable Word and Excel files via a download link. You receive:

  • Lifetime access to the files you purchased;
  • Email-delivered updates over a 24-month update window;
  • The right to use the files internally within your organisation for ISO/IEC 42001:2023 implementation, audit preparation, and operational governance.

You do not receive a guarantee of certification, a guarantee of regulatory compliance, legal advice, audit services, or consulting hours. We are a publishing business, we ship the documents. Whether your AIMS implementation succeeds, whether your certification body accepts your evidence, and whether your specific regulatory situation is covered are determinations that depend on factors outside our control.

4. When we will refund

The 7-day guarantee. If you tell us within 7 days of purchase that the toolkit is not right for you, we refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask you to justify it. This applies whether or not you have accessed the download. After the 7-day window, we still issue a full refund in these specific situations:

  • Failed delivery. You completed payment but cannot access the download, and we cannot resolve the access issue within 7 days of your support request.
  • Wrong tier delivered. You received a different tier than the one you purchased and we cannot supply the correct tier within 7 days.
  • Duplicate charge. You were charged twice for the same purchase due to a payment-system error.
  • Material misdescription. The toolkit you receive is materially different from what is described on the product page at the time of your purchase. "Material" means a substantive difference in document count, document scope, or stated coverage, not minor wording differences or a buyer's revised expectations.
  • Verified factual defect. The toolkit contains an identifiable, specific factual error in a regulatory citation (a wrong ISO clause number, a wrong regulation reference, a wrong control identifier) that is material to the document's purpose, and that we cannot correct within 14 days through a free update push. Differences of professional interpretation or stylistic preference do not constitute factual defects.

In all five cases, refunds are issued within 10 business days of our verification of the issue.

5. When we will NOT refund

Once the 7-day guarantee window in Section 4 has passed, we do not refund in these situations:

  • You purchased the wrong tier, in this case we will help you upgrade at the price difference rather than refund and re-charge;
  • Your organisation did not achieve ISO 42001 certification, or your certification took longer than expected, many variables determine certification outcomes, and we provide implementation-reference content rather than a guarantee of any specific outcome;
  • Your implementation took longer or cost more than you anticipated;
  • You disagree with how a specific control, policy, or procedure is worded in the toolkit, these are matters of professional judgement, and we welcome editorial feedback through the update channel even where it does not warrant a refund;
  • You believe the toolkit "should have included" a document that was never advertised as part of the tier you purchased;
  • You violated the Terms of Use, including by redistributing, reselling, or sharing the toolkit outside your organisation without a White-Label or equivalent licence;
  • The 60-day reporting window in Section 9 has expired.

6. Business buyers

The vast majority of our customers are business purchasers, compliance teams, legal departments, advisory firms, and consultants buying for client engagements. For business buyers, the consumer-protection withdrawal rights in Section 7 do not apply as a matter of law. The 7-day guarantee in Sections 1 and 4 applies to you regardless: we offer it to every buyer, business or consumer, as a matter of policy rather than obligation.

Most B2B digital products do not offer this. We do, because our buyers are compliance professionals who should be able to evaluate the documents properly before committing.

7. EU and UK consumers, statutory withdrawal right

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, meaning you are purchasing outside your trade, business, craft, or profession, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. This right derives from the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU as implemented in your Member State, or in the United Kingdom from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

An exception applies under Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the equivalent UK provisions: the statutory withdrawal right does not apply to digital content delivered on a non-tangible medium once performance has begun, provided the consumer has given explicit prior consent to performance beginning before the withdrawal period ends and has acknowledged that they thereby lose the right of withdrawal.

To exercise the statutory withdrawal right, email support@iso42001toolkit.com within 14 days of purchase, before accessing the download. We will issue a full refund to the original payment method and revoke access. If you have already accessed the download, the right is extinguished under the Article 16(m) exception.

This clause does not affect product-conformity rights under the Digital Content and Digital Services Directive 2019/770, those rights remain available independently of this policy.

8. How to request a refund

Email support@iso42001toolkit.com with the following:

  • Your order number or the email used at checkout;
  • The tier you purchased;
  • The specific situation from Section 4 you are invoking;
  • Any supporting evidence (screenshots of failed downloads, payment records for duplicate charges, the specific factual error you have identified).

We acknowledge refund requests within 3 business days. Most verifications complete within 10 business days. Refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe; depending on your card issuer, the funds typically appear in your account within 5 to 10 business days after we issue the refund.

9. Time limits

  • 7-day guarantee (no reason needed): report within 7 days of purchase.
  • Failed-delivery or technical issues: report within 30 days of purchase.
  • Material misdescription or factual defect: report within 60 days of purchase.
  • EU/UK consumer statutory withdrawal right: 14 days from purchase, subject to the Section 7 exception.
  • Duplicate charge: report within 30 days of the duplicate transaction.

Reports outside these windows may be considered case by case where the underlying issue is verifiable. Beyond the 7-day guarantee window, we do not extend deadlines for post-implementation regret.

10. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Chargebacks impose processing-fee costs on both sides, freeze the disputed amount for 30–90 days while the claim is investigated, and are rarely the fastest path to resolution. Where you have a legitimate refund situation under Section 4, emailing support@iso42001toolkit.com is faster.

If a chargeback is initiated after we have offered, in good faith, a resolution that addresses the issue under this policy, including a full refund where one is due, we will contest the chargeback with documentation of the offered resolution. We also reserve the right to suspend the associated account and revoke ongoing access in such cases.

Chargebacks initiated for "buyer's remorse" reasons against accessed digital downloads are treated as a breach of the Terms of Use.

11. Anti-abuse

The toolkit is licensed for use within a single organisation, except where a White-Label or multi-organisation licence has been separately purchased. Where we identify a refund request following evidence of redistribution, public sharing, posting to file-sharing services, or use across multiple unaffiliated organisations, the request will be denied and the licence terminated.

This protects buyers who use the toolkit honestly. We make no apology for it.
